How to Install WordPress on your Web Host to start Blogging in under 20 minutes!

If you are looking to get started blogging with WordPress and are in search of some guidance to help you install this popular CMS then you have found the right video.

In this video I will be showing you how to install WordPress on your web host both automatically using an installation script provided by your host, and also how to install it manually, just in case your hosts does not provide an auto installer feature (rare), or you are using a free hosting provider, or you are just curious to learn how to do it manually.

To follow along, you will need to have a hosting account and a domain.

Note that in the video I am using SiteGround as my host. But the steps shown will apply to any hosting company as cPanel is very common among them.

So sit tight and follow along and you will be up and running with WordPress in no time (in less than 20 minutes to be exact)

Note: The video is about 17 minutes because I explain how to install WordPress on your host both automatically using many of the installation scripts provided by your host and also how to install it manually via FTP. Installing WordPress in either case should take approximately 5 – 10 minutes total.

Skip to the 8:15 minute mark for the instructions on how to install WordPress manually. Hope you find this useful and easy to follow.

What if I don’t have a Hosting Plan and Domain?

If you do not have a hosting plan then I highly recommend SiteGround. It is my #1 choice for WordPress hosting. Most of my sites are hosted on SiteGround and I have been with them for quite some time now. Their tech support is so good they just don’t compare to any of the other companies I have had in the past.

Another hosting company worth mentioning is GreenGeeks. I have been trying out GreenGeeks for a few months now and I am very impressed. The main reason I decided to try them was because of their environmental commitment. They currently offset their energy consumption by purchasing enough wind power to put back 3x times the amount of energy they consume. But I have found that their support is pretty good and their cPanel is full of useful features very comparable to SiteGround.

Visit their website to learn more and see for yourself what makes these hosts great and see which one best suits your needs.

If you have any feedback, questions, or suggestions please leave a comment in the section below. I try to answer as soon as possible.

Thanks for stoping by and I hope you are having a great day so far.

Disclosure: Please note that the links on this post are affiliate links from the hosts I recommend and personally use. If you decide to purchase a plan from SiteGround or GreenGeeks via the links on this post I will receive a commission and for that I sincerely thank you. Your support is very much appreciated! 🙂

  1. great video you shared. The video is so much effective for new bloggers. They will able to start blogging fast with the help of your video.

  2. I’ve a question!
Which is better to install wordpress? Using auto installer or do it manually
by the way thanks for sharing nice video

    1. I prefer to do it manually since I can just install what I need. When I use auto installers I have noticed that they add extra items like themes and plugins (depending on the host) and I end up having to uninstall these afterwards.
